The Montclair Cooperative School (Montclair, NJ) reached out to us about a general music opening in their school for the 2016-17 school year. See the announcement below. If you are interested or have any questions about the position, please contact them directly: Below are announcements about two great initiatives offered through our friends at the American Center for Elemental Music and Movement (ACEMM). We encourage you to take advantage them!
Thanks to everyone who came out to this past weekend's workshop! Our clinician, Meg Tietz, referenced several collections of poetry she uses in her classroom. Here is a list of her recommended volumes. Those poems utilized in the Night Poetry activity were drawn from the first three on the list:
"Piping Down the Valleys Wild" by Nancy Larrick (ISBN: 9780440415824) "The Poetry of Zen" by Sam Hammil (ISBN: 9781590204259) "The Random House Book of Poetry for Children" by Jack Prelutsky (ISBN: 9780394850108) "Sing a Song of Popcorn" by Beatrice Schenk de Regniers (ISBN: 9780590439749) "Talking to the Sun" by Kenneth Koch and Kate Farrell (ISBN: 9780805001440) "Talking Like the Rain" by X.J. Kennedy (ISBN: 9780316384919) A big "thank you" to everyone who came out to our March workshop with clinician Paul Weller! As promised, Paul has uploaded the workshop PowerPoint and balanced literacy Prezi to his website (www.pkweller.com). The PowerPoint is filed under "workshop documents" and the Prezi is on the main "curriculum and song index" page. There are additional resources there as well, so be sure to look around.
